Hotaru Furuya (古屋 ほたる Furuya Hotaru) is a character in Tsurezure Children. She is in class 1-3 who is in the broadcasting club and the younger sister of Jun Furuya.
Appearance[]

Hotaru is a small girl with mid-back length indigo hair that she prefers to wear in two low braided ponytails with bangs hanging over her forehead and light-purple eyes.
Personality[]
Hotaru is shown to typically be a very kind and sweet girl. However, she has a big brother complex and will become rude, aggressive and childlike whenever a girl tries to flirt with her brother. She is somewhat gullible and is prone to be teased by Yuki Minagawa - a trait that she shares with her older brother, Jun Furuya.
Some of the male students in her grade, such as Chihiro Souma, are scared of her because of her aggressiveness.

Jun Furuya []
Jun is Hotaru's older brother who has a big brother complex that she is extremely possessive of him. She doesn't think that any girl is worthy of him where she wants to stop any girl from getting close with him.
However, she sometimes gets annoyed when Jun treats her like a little kid.
Yuki Minagawa[]
Due to Hotaru's big brother complex, she dislikes Yuki that Hotaru often says that she hates Yuki and she tries to get them to break up and she thinks that Yuki is tricking her brother and she actually has a nasty personality.
However, after a while of being with Yuki, Hotaru seems to be gradually accepting her and begins to think that she isn't all that bad.
Akitsuki[]
Akitsuki confessed to Hotaru in the omake while they were doing student council work just like how her brother was confessed to by Yuki Minagawa.
Etymology[]
- Hotaru's surname Furuya means "old" (古) (furu) and "shop" (屋) (ya).
